Registration Requirements

Looking to register for Nippers? This page provides some important information.

The Nippers registration process involves three important steps – two of which should be done before registration opens.

1) Ensure you have a valid Victorian WWCC
2) Create or update your member profile via the Surf Life Saving (SLS) website
3) Register and Pay your registration fee for Nippers

Step 1) - Working With Children Check (WWCC)

Please note that it will not be possible to enrol in the program unless at least one Parent / Guardian (preferably all) holds a current Victorian WWCC, which is registered with Woolamai Beach Surf Life Saving Club AND Life Saving Victoria. All adults who are members of a Life Saving Club must hold a WWCC to comply with Life Saving Victoria policy. There are no exceptions to this requirement; even professionals such as Police Officers and Teachers must obtain a WWCC.

Applying for a Victorian WWCC is FREE. For details on how to obtain or update your WWCC, visit www.workingwithchildren.vic.gov.au. It can take several weeks to obtain a WWCC, so if you do not hold one, we suggest you apply without delay. For steps on how to fill out a WWCC, please click HERE.

Step 2) - Memberships

Each family participating in the program will be required to have a membership with Woolamai Beach SLSC through Surf Life Saving’s online membership portal. This process will take some time so we suggest you do this as soon as you can.

Parents / Guardians will need to create or renew their membership profile, as well as for each child (separately). During this process, you will be prompted to make a payment - DO NOT PAY AT THIS TIME! This fee is paid when you enrol in Nippers.

It is essential that families create or update their profile. If you do not complete this step, your place in the program may be offered to another family on the waiting list.

To assist Parents / Guardians in the membership process, we have created the following guides specific for the Nippers Program. Please read bellow carefully.

New Members (ONLY)

  • If you are joining the Nippers Program at Woolamai for the first time and have never been a part of a Surf Life Saving club before, please click HERE

Existing Members

  • If you are a returning Nipper / adult member and/or have participated in any Life Saving activity within Victoria previously, please click HERE

Family Groups

  • If you have multiple children participating in the program, a Family Group can be set up, which enables a ‘Primary Contact’ i.e. Parent / Guardian to renew multiple memberships at once. This is not compulsory to set up however will save you a lot of time each year. To learn more about how to set up a Family Group, please click HERE

Please remember you are NOT required to make any payments when you renew your membership. Please close your window when it prompts you for payment.

Step 3) - Registration

Once you have completed Steps 1 and 2, you are now ready to register for Nippers. Registration for season 2022/23 opened on:

Monday 16 October 2023 @ 7:00pm.

Registrations fill fast. A registration reminder with the link to the registration page will be sent out before this day for those who are on the Nippers mailing list. Notification will also be posted to the club’s social channels. For season 2023/24, the total fee is $175 for the first child. This fee includes the program fee of $115 per child, junior club membership of $30 per child, and adult club membership of $30 (this covers social membership). The fee for any subsequent child is $145. To participate in the program, all children are to wear a Woolamai Beach SLSC high visibility rash vest. If a child does not have a Woolamai Beach SLSC high visibility rash vest from a previous season, one can be purchased for $50 during the enrolment process.

Note: Current Active Members may not be required to pay the adult club membership fee of $30 if they already hold membership with the club.
