The Nippers registration process involves three steps, steps 1 and 2 should be completed before registration opens. If you have not had a chance to do so you will need to complete these steps before 1 December 2025, otherwise your place/s will not be secured.
Step 1 – Ensure you have a valid Victorian WWCC
Step 2 – Create or update your member profile via the Surf Life Saving (SLS) website
Step 3 – Register and pay for the 2025/26 Nippers Program
Step 4 – Ensure you have signed up for a volunteer role or roles
Step 1 – Working With Children Check (WWCC)
Please note, to participate in the Nippers program, registered Nippers all parents, guardian and volunteers must hold a current Victorian WWCC, that is registered with the Woolamai Beach Surf Life Saving Club and Life Saving Victoria.
All adults who are members of a Life Saving Club must hold a WWCC to comply with Life Saving Victoria policy. Information on filling out an/or registering your WWCC, and requirements for VIT registered teachers and police officers can be found HERE.
To register for Nippers you will need your WWCC details or your WWCC application number and the date of your application. If you are registering with an application number, you must provide your approved WWCC details to the club by 1 December 2025 or your place in the program may be offered to another family.
Applying for a Victorian WWCC is FREE. For details on how to obtain or update your WWCC, visit www.workingwithchildren.vic.gov.au. It can take several weeks to obtain a WWCC, so if you do not hold one, we suggest you apply without delay.
Step 2 – Memberships
Each family participating in the program will be required to have a membership with Woolamai Beach SLSC through Surf Life Saving’s online membership portal. This process will take some time so we suggest you do this as soon as you can.
Please note an approved club membership is not required to complete your Nippers registration. Club membership will be approved once your Nippers registration has been confirmed.
Parents / Guardians will need to create or renew their membership profile, as well as for each child (separately). During this process, you will be prompted to make a payment - DO NOT PAY AT THIS TIME! This fee is paid when you enrol in Nippers.
It is essential that families create or update their profile. If you do not complete this step, your place in the program may be offered to another family on the waiting list.

Please remember you are NOT required to make any payments when you renew your membership. Simply close your window when it prompts you for payment.
Step 3 – Registration

Step 4 – Volunteer role signup
Parent involvement is what makes Nippers happen and many hands really do make light work. With approximately 400 nippers and 500 volunteer opportunities, if each family volunteers once for a high involvement role, or twice (where possible) for a medium or low involvement role across the program, it will be easy! Information on the volunteer roles can be found HERE.
If you didn’t sign up for a volunteer role during registration (via the links in the registration form) please do so now using the links below. If you have not registered for a volunteer role or roles by 1 December 2025 your place in the program may be offered to another family.
