Waterman “Red Carpet” Night

U15 LSV Development Camp

Life Saving Victoria (LSV) is pleased to announce applications are open for the 2024 U15 Development Camp.

The U15 Camp is an opportunity for youth members to develop their leadership, interpersonal, and teamwork skills while also broadening their understanding of lifesaving, as we support participants to progress through their lifesaving journey. Mentored by current outstanding volunteer leaders, participants will have the opportunity to learn, share, and network with like-minded lifesavers from across the state over a 3-day live-in camp.

The camp will be taking place on the following dates:

Dates: Friday, 17 May to Sunday, 19 May 2024

Location: YMCA Anglesea Recreation Camp, Anglesea.

LSV Development Camp Leader Opportunities

Life Saving Victoria (LSV) is seeking camp leaders to assist with facilitating and administrating the 2024 U13 Development Camp and the U15 Leadership Development Camp.

Being a Camp Leader will provide you with an opportunity to extend your own leadership potential, develop valuable facilitating skills, network with likeminded members and to assist in establishing the next generation of young leaders.

U13 Development Camp

  • Friday, 5 April to Sunday, 7 April 2024 at YMCA Lake Dewar Lodge, Myrniong.

Smiths Beach Rescue Base Repairs - Donations needed

Unfortunately since it’s inception the Smiths beach tower has been stripped down by the harsh weather conditions from the beach.

The rescue base is need of urgent repairs and maintenance (including re-painting in oil-rig spec paint) in order to avoid Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) issues / the structure becoming condemned; and to ensure that the two structures can continue serving the Phillip Island Nature Park (PINP) / Bass Coast Shire Council (BCSC) residents and visitors and Life Saving Victoria (LSV) lifeguard service over the next 20-25 years.

The required works includes

  • Wall panel works

  • Stair removal and replacement

  • Insitu painting works
