Assets - Darrell Clark

I'm Clarky for those who do not know me

I have been the Director of Assets for about 7 of the past 8 years or 8 of 9 or something like that. Anyway, doesn't matter how long really - what this means though is I know most stuff about all our assets and I am the one that will be dealing with or fixing any problem or issue. So, I am the guy.

There are 4 main assets being:

  • The Woolamai Beach Clubhouse and its contents (apart from rescue related gear and equipment),

  • The Cranny Residence

  • Smiths Beach Rescue Base and

  • the Newhaven Rescue Water Craft (RWC) Shed.

If you notice anything that needs repairing/fixing/improving/not working/access problems/etc. etc. (OK what I really mean is ANYTHING ANYWHERE) then please email me at assets@woolamaibeach.asn.au Photos are always great. If it is urgent then call me on 0419 373 744.

Summary of a few of things that have happened recently

  • The Block revamp of the extended bar area upstairs. Amazing work here.

  • The Block revamped 2 of the 5 bunkrooms. Also amazing.

  • Essential clubhouse electrical works were completed including a new switchboard.

  • The Residence received a facelift via;

  • The front deck was oiled.

  • The front of the residence was repainted.

  • The clubhouse alarms, cameras and security system were reviewed and fixed/repaired as required.

  • The gear shed garage: 6 automatic garage doors received an overhaul and full service with many parts needing replacing due to our harsh environment.

  • Thanks to Westernport Water providing a grant we were able to replace a leaking toilet downstairs.

  • Ongoing regular clubhouse roof sand maintenance was carried out. A never ending task; however, essential as with sand build up we get water leaks.

Works to be completed shortly

  • Upgrade and replace the clubhouse showers outside (hopefully via a grant).

  • Fix the door to the clubhouse tower.

  • Smiths Beach Rescue Base rust removal and essential maintenance. Cost about $84K.

  • We ran a successful Block fundraiser so that we could then;

  • upgrade the other 3 bunkrooms,

  • grind and polish all of the concrete flooring downstairs (except for the gear shed).

  • Replace all the beds with headspace as per the 2 new bunkroom beds. Whilst doing this we are downsizing the number of beds in line with council requirements.

  • Essential storage for bags etc. off the floor (Council requirement).

  • A personal storage shelf will be added to every bed.

  • Every bed will have its own GPO (general power outlet).

Cheers

Clarky
