Club Update - Lifesaving Services 8th August 2021
Patrol Captain Applications now open:
We're looking for our clubs best of the best active patrolling lifesavers to join the lifesaving services team and take on on the unbelievably rewarding challenge of patrol captaining this season.
Available Positions include:
Hellfish Patrol Captain(s).
Waterman Patrol Captain(s).
Punchy Penguin Patrol Captain (Working alongside PC Grace Saxon).
Note: Roles are open to patrolling members from any patrol. Vacant Vice Patrol Captain positions to be advertised later in month.
We are looking for members who are dedicated, possess excellent lifesaving knowledge and show strong leadership on the beach.
Young guns (18+), veteran clubbies and anyone in between who thinks they have what it takes to play a major part of our club this season should apply!

Lifesaving Equipment Officer Applications now open:
Available positions include:
Lifesaving Equipment Coordinator:
This role involves overlooking all aspect of our equipment and managing the respective equipment officers. This person's key role is working with these officers to get gear inspections done. To ensure equipment is up to scratch and repaired where needed. Working in with our grant seeking team and also working with our patrol captains
Radio Officer:
This role involves overlooking all aspects of our radio's, radio networks, communication systems and dealing with any issues that arise with the above. You are also required to communicate to LSV about issues with radios and to resolve repairs etc.
First Aid Officer:
This role involves overlooking all aspects of the clubs first Aid equipment. Maintaining equipment, ordering new supplies before, during and after the season.

Join our Emergency Response Team:
The emergency response team is a group of highly experienced and skilled club members who can be called upon to respond to assist to coastal emergencies in the Phillip Island and surrounding region at any time of the day!
In joining the emergency response team, you will be expected to partake in additional annual emergency response training which will include call out scenario-based scenario sessions on/ around the Phillip Island coastline - these will be a hell of a lot of fun and will help take your lifesaving skillset to the next level!
We're after experienced patrolling members who meet the below minimum pre-requisites:
Over the age of 18 years, at least 3 years' experience as an active patrolling member, hold a current club membership, hold a current driver's license.
Awards: Bronze medallion, Silver Medallion Aquatic Rescue SMAR (or willingness to obtain), Silver Medallion Beach Management (or willingness to obtain), First Aid, ART, IRB Crew or Drivers.
Note: You are not required to respond to every call out, only when you're available and willing to assist.
You don't need to be a Phillip Island local to be involved - the larger the pool of responding members we can call on the better!
Those who live local on the Island and surrounds are highly sought after for the team, if you're local but don't quite meet the minimum pre req's please still submit an EOI and we'll be in touch!
