SKILLS MAINTENANCE / Requalification

Just a reminder that members will need to requalify at either one of the below skills maintenance sessions run at the club, or book into a session elsewhere. All awards will be expiring on 30/12/2020.

If you do not requal you will be unable to patrol from 1st Jan 2021.

To Book into a requal please ensure that you have:

  2. Complete online learning – More Info: https://www.woolamaibeach.org.au/requalification

  3. Booked into a practical session. There are only 20 spots per session so get in quick! https://mt.lsv.com.au/login/

Things to note:

  • This is the full roster covering the entirety of the season, please note from Boxing day onwards traditional full weekend patrols will resume and the bunkrooms will be available. More on bunkrooms below.

  • Boxing Day Long Weekend: We will be trialing splitting the Boxing day long weekend amongst two patrols, with the Islanders scheduled for Sat 26/12 all day and Sun 27/12 AM shift, Punchy’s Penguins will take over the Sunday 27/12 patrol from the Islanders for the PM shift and also patrol the Monday 28/12 Public Holiday.

  • Smiths will be covered by the lifeguard service from the beginning of the season until Sunday, Feb 14th.

    There’s a new patrol in town this season - Punchy’s Penguins
    The mighty ducks have finished their run of patrolling the beach at Woolamai. A massive thanks to all those who have taken part in the ducks patrols and made a massive impact on keeping our beaches safe over the past years.

In the ducks place this season we will have a new patrol - Punchy's Penguins, led by a gun leadership team, Patrol Captain Grace Saxon and Vice Captains James Henderson & Hallie Mau

Bunkrooms
Are still closed at this stage, announcements will be made in the coming weeks about their reopening to allow members to stay at the club for patrol operations.


Nippers!

Registrations for this season’s modified Nippers program opened on Monday 30 November. With limited places available this season, over 90% of places were filled in the first two hours.

A few places remain in the program, for U7 and U9 age groups. To register go to www.woolamibeach.org.au/nippers. Anyone who missed out on securing a place is encouraged to join the waiting list in case of spots become available.

Nippers Water Safe Crew

Volunteers are needed to assist with water safety for Nippers. Due to COVID, Nippers will look a little different this year.

Water safety crew are needed to assist at Cleeland Bight Beach (Cape Woolamai) from 8:45am-11:45am on the following days: Tue 29/12/2020 to Tue 5/1/2021 (excluding New Year’s Day).

If you have your Bronze or have recently completed SRC, we’d love to hear from you! Snacks will be provided.
