Vice President - Nick Reynolds
My first season as a board member was both challenging & enjoyable. I didn’t get to complete everything I set out to achieve over the past season, however I’ve been actively involved in delivering and expanding several key programs for our club including:
Training and Education
I successfully facilitated a range of lifesaving training sessions for both new and returning members, focusing on skill development, safety protocols, and team coordination. These sessions helped strengthen our patrol teams and build confidence in emergency response. I’ve also worked closely with our Chief Instructor in implementing a succession plan for our existing trainers. This plan will spread the workload in the training space & help alleviate ‘burnout’.
Sunset Sips at the Bar
To boost community engagement and raise funds for the club, I was a key member of the team that launched Sunset Sips, a relaxed social event held at the bar. The event brought together members, families, and the local community, creating a positive atmosphere while supporting club operations through bar sales and donations. I intend to continue this initiative next season & grow our membership base through the sale of social memberships. I’d like to thank Jackson Sinclair & all those who volunteered behind the bar to make this such a success.
Kindergarten Program
I also introduced and ran a Kindergarten Water Safety Program with the help of Maddy Reynolds. The program was designed to introduce young children to basic beach and water safety. The program was well-received by parents and teachers and gave our youngest community members some fun and safe activities while also learning important water safety messages.
These initiatives contributed to both member development and community involvement, and I look forward to continuing to build on them in the upcoming season.
